INSTRUCTIONS



Task2: Text Formatting and Expression.

In this project, we are provided with three articles, and we need to choose one to create a 2-page editorial design. We will use Adobe Illustrator to handle the expression of headlines and Adobe InDesign for layout.

1.Sketch

The left side features a sketch of my headline, while the right side displays the overall layout of my page. I believe that the word "BETTER" in the headline should be emphasized, so I made this particular word larger.

I created this design by continuously rotating and scaling with the text tool in Illustrator.

I rearranged the order of the text on the right, disrupting the normal sequence. This creates a more irregular and aesthetic appeal.

Fonts: Bodoni MT (headline, body text), Gill Sans Std (lead in)
Point size: 75pt (focus word), 20 pt (headline), 15 pt (lead in), 14 pt (body)
Leading: 123 pt

REFLECTIONS

Typography is proving to be quite a challenge for me. I must admit, I struggled with the assignment, and I'm not entirely satisfied with my work. It's clear to me now that mastering the art of typography requires more practice and understanding than I initially thought. I'll keep pushing myself to improve because I believe there's always room for growth, even if it means grappling with the complexities of fonts and layouts.
