Task3: Type Exploration and Application

INSTRUCTION


For this assignment we are free to come up with our own project. We are required to research the use of fonts in our field of interest or develop a font to address the challenges in that field. The final product will be a developed font for use in whatever media is relevant to the problem being solved.

MY PROJECT IDEA


PROCESS

I want to create a font that can meke people fell "Cute". So I set shape to circle in pen tool to ensure the begining and the end of the line is rounded

Then I gradually worked my way through lowercase letters, characters and numbers.


I set "Gill Sans" as my reference font.

Week 9 (17/06/2024):

I haven't sought feedback from Mr. Vinod Nair yet. I will first watch the recorded session and then decide how to proceed with Task 3.

Week 10 (24/06/2024):

General Feedback for Task 3: It is important to observe and document your process, as sometimes the process is more important than the result.

Week 11 (01/07/2024):

Mr. Vinod Nair approved my final submission for Task 2 as the design for Task 3, so I can start expanding my letterforms.

Week 12 (08/07/2024):

General Feedback: Before importing the font files into FontForge, ensure to convert the paths into shapes in AI.

Week 13 (15/07/2024):

Complete and submit the digital portfolio for Task 3, and prepare the final compilation and reflection.

 REFLECTION

During this course, I learned the process of creating a complete English font and the step-by-step journey from initial idea to final realization. Additionally, I became more proficient in using Adobe Illustrator.
