III. Character Sculpt 1: Stylized Character Blockout

  A) Character Design

for my original character design, I directly use my assignment from another module  called "Character Design".

In short, this is a loli girl under Genshin-Impact worldview and she is a traveler.

B) Body Turnaround
I use some basic geometry to built the nude version of my character. I found that my understanding on the anatomy of arms and  legs is very bad, the muscles in theses places are really complex。

  C) Head Turnaround

IV. Character Detailing and texturing

A) Week 10

this week I finish the rough structure of my character by some basic geometry.

[Feedback] Professor asked me to make a new face rather than use a software built-in face model to show my ability, and to include more details.

B) Week 11

this week I completed the white model of my character according to my character design, and I also sculpt a new head to replace the built-in one.

[Feedback] Professor still told me to add more details, especially on facial part. Professor mentioned that the mouth is just a line and I need refine on it deeper. Professor also told me to change the wrinkle  of cloth and told me some basic principles of wrinkle.

C) Week 12

this week I colored my model according to my original character design, but I do no modify on the feedback what last professor told me because I am too lazy.

[Feedback] Professor repeat what he said on the last week, and also mentioned me that I can do more color changed.

C) Week 13

This week I reworked the mouth and finally its not just a line anymore. And I also add more hair strands to show more details.

V. Polishing and Dynamic Posture with props

The head slightly look down, hands tied behind the back, all show the shyness personality of my character.

This week, for posture parts, I follow a tutorial video on Internet and use a plugin to complete it.

[Feedback] Professor mentioned that for the pose part is okay but the right leg seems deformation and be thinner.

B) PDF SUMBISSION

VI. REFLECTION

This is my first time use Z-brush to build a character model. I found that my understanding on the structure of real human facial structure is quiet poor, although I have some figure painting experience, most of my work is anime-style.

And also I ‘m still not very familiar with Z-brush and its hard for me to handle complex details.

Besides sculpting, I also struggle with rendering. I don’t fully understand the rendering settings and often feel overwhelmed by the number of options. To be honest, I’m also not a very patient person, which makes it harder for me to sit down and slowly adjust things like lighting and material settings. However, I realize that these steps are important to present my work properly, so I plan to improve by watching beginner-friendly tutorials and practicing small rendering tasks step by step.
